As part of our club constitution, the committee can award this honour, but to date we have not …. It seems fitting to award this honour to Edel Redmond.
Edel is the kind of volunteer every club dreams of. The one who says “no problem” to everything… even when the rest of us are quietly thinking, “that sounds like a lot of work.” But thanks to Edel, so many of our players have had incredible experiences, built confidence, and created memories that will last a lifetime, e.g., from the trip to Poconos basketball camp she expertly organised.
And then there’s her role as Men’s Secretary - Now, anyone who’s dealt with men’s basketball teams knows that keeping everything organised is… let’s say… a challenge … somehow kept it all running smoothly. Her contribution to this club has been truly extraordinary. Even if we don’t say it often enough, please know that it has been deeply appreciated—by players, coaches, committee members, and everyone lucky enough to be part of this community. On behalf of everyone at Tolka Rovers, thank you for everything you have done. You are an incredible volunteer, a brilliant organiser, and a valued friend to this club.
You truly deserve this honour in recognition of all the roles you’ve worked in within the club over many years.
