Praha Buvaneswaran and Juwan Jones, our National League Men’s Professional player, have been working with Ballymun Kickhams GAA Club to deliver basketball coaching sessions for their 2016 Boys’ GAA football teams.
This collaboration aims to introduce new disciplines that help young footballers develop agility, footwork, and spatial awareness. Basketball requires excellent hand–eye coordination, strong ball-handling skills, and quick decision-making under pressure.
Although the game is faster and played on a smaller court than GAA, the skills learned through basketball translate directly to football and will greatly benefit the Kickhams players in their matches.
